Hi. I’m Rhonda Peterson, your host for the Bold & Courageous Podcast. Let me explain to you a little bit about the Bold & Courageous Podcast. It came out of my own search for deeper meaning and significance. Out of crisis and life transitions, I turned to God, growing in my understanding of His love for me. Fear paralyzed me for a long time, but I came to realize that God calls me to courageous. That doesn’t mean I don’t have fear, but that as he promises Joshua, in Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous, do not be terrified, do not be discouraged, for the Lord, your God will be with you wherever you go.” I’ll share more of my story as the podcast unfolds, but this podcast is about you.
The Bold & Courageous Leader Podcast brings resources to Christian marketplace leaders thirsting for a deeper connection between faith and work. My co-host, Andee Marks and I provide insightful discussion, interviews with frontline industry leaders, as well as others who have discovered unique ways of integrating calling and career and reviews of current and classic leadership resources.
If you want to develop clarity and focus, if you want to sharpen your skills in time and energy management and you want to hone your God-given gifts in order to release your full potential then this podcast is for you. We look forward to engaging with you on these themes. Please comment and rate the podcast so we can engage together in Bold & Courageous leadership.
Let me share a little bit about myself. I’m a Podcaster, Blogger, Retreat Leader and Coach. My focus is on the integration of faith and work. My passion is guiding leaders as they discover connections between their work and their faith. They find freedom, increased energy, more fun and more accomplishment than they dreamed possible.
My background in Consumer Products Marketing and Church Volunteer Management gives me a wide range of experiences in relating to my clients. I am active in my church, a member of the International Coach Federation and a regular participant in Forward, where I am privileged to gather with other Christians professional women. You may ask what qualifies me to speak to Bold & Courageous.
I’ve been on the Bold & Courageous journey myself for several years. The word courageous resonates, for me, much more than fearless. I don’t believe in fearless. That has never been my experience and it’s borne out by scripture and neuroscience. Instead, as I studied scripture, I gained a deeper understanding of the meaning of courageous. God doesn’t make me fearless. Fear exists for a reason, though sometimes I overdo it on the fear. Rather, God calls me to courageous, which means I feel the fear, but move forward anyway, as He calls me to step into what’s next.
Launching Bold & Courageous is a Bold & Courageous action for me. In the past, I have tried many things but have not fully engaged in what God has called me to do because I was fearful of what other’s might think if I incorporated my faith into what I am doing. But faith is my highest value, along with authenticity and integrity. Fear caused me to hold back, to engage on a less than authentic level. No more! I’m stepping out into what God has called me to do, trusting him for the outcome. I am living Bold & Courageous, and I invite you to join me on this journey.
I have plans for the future. The Bold & Courageous Podcast is just the beginning. There will be a Bold & Courageous online community, a membership designed for connecting with others while living out your call on the way to Bold & Courageous leadership. There will be Bold & Courageous Retreats designed to guide you as you walk into your Bold & Courageous future. And Bold & Courageous Mastermind groups designed to be a community where we support each other in the work of walking out the insights gained in the Bold & Courageous Retreats.
God calls each of us to live Bold & Courageous. Join me as we explore what that looks like through the Bold & Courageous Podcast. If you would like updates on being a Bold & Courageous leader, sign up for our mailing list at bold&courageousleader.com. I’ll talk with you soon on the next podcast.
